"Mrs. Tanita has demonstrated exceptional leadership and vision at Courreges Elementary," said Superintendent Katherine Stopp, Ed.D. Reflecting on her transition, Mrs. Tanita shared, “It has been an absolute honor to serve the students, staff, and families of Courreges. The relationships we’ve built and the growth we’ve achieved together will always be incredibly special to me. I look forward to supporting the entire district in this new capacity, and I will always hold a special place in my heart for the Cougar community.”
Next Steps for Courreges Elementary
To ensure the continued success and high standards of Courreges Elementary, FVSD will launch a comprehensive, competitive recruitment process to select the school's next principal. In alignment with District practices for elementary leadership roles, the position will be posted publicly to attract a robust pool of highly qualified candidates.
Further updates regarding the timeline of the search and opportunities for community input will be shared with Courreges families as the process gets underway.
Ms. Tanita will officially assume her new role on July 27, 2026.
