I grew up in Long Beach, California, where I still live with my husband Jason, our kids James and Madelaine, and our dog Baxter. I received a degree in literature from UC Santa Cruz, and earned both my teaching credential and master’s degree in literature at UC Irvine. I have been teaching middle school students for the last 14 years. I spent the first two years of my career teaching 7th and 8th grade English and ASB in Garden Grove.  I left Garden Grove and took a position teaching 7th and 8th and 9th grade English at an international school in Gothenburg, Sweden. After two years in beautiful Sweden I returned  to California and began teaching at Talbert, where I have been ever since. I love working at Talbert, and especially teaching 6th grade English and history. When I have time I love traveling with my family, heading to the beach, SCUBA diving, and reading as many books as I can.
